Near North 3.6.5.’s outreach team is firmly embedded in the fabric of Chicago’s Near North Side. Team members possess true “LTO” — License to Operate — earned not through titles, but through lived experience, long-standing relationships, and an authentic understanding of the communities they serve. Many have walked the same streets, navigated the same challenges, and endured the same pressures as the youth and high-risk adults they now support.

This shared lived experience equips outreach workers with an intimate understanding of neighborhood dynamics, historical conflicts, and the complex social realities that shape behavior and decision-making. Because they are known, trusted, and respected, outreach workers are able to navigate sensitive relationships with credibility, empathy, and cultural humility.

Near North 3.6.5. meets people where they are — physically, emotionally, and socially. Outreach workers lead with listening, consistency, and presence, creating safe spaces where individuals feel seen, heard, and valued. Through sustained engagement, they build trust that opens pathways toward safety, accountability, healing, and long-term positive change.

Near North 3.6.5. provides continuous, street-based outreach across multiple areas of the Near North Side, intentionally engaging at-risk and high-risk individuals who are often disconnected from traditional systems of support. The goal is not only immediate conflict interruption, but long-term relationship-building rooted in trust, dignity, and mutual respect. By welcoming individuals into a safe, supportive environment aligned with the core values of Near North 365’s programming, the organization contributes to meaningful reductions in community violence and harm—while strengthening relationships, restoring hope, and building healthier, more resilient communities.
